Smoking

With the recent uproar about the anti smoking campaign I cant help but notice how people tend to overreact over ridiculously small matters. The fact is, no one really cared that much about people smoking in public area ( Except for a nominal amount of people ) until the recent media attention its caught. I mean with the world tobacco day and all the other similar nonsense on the newspapers.

As I predicted, immediately after that a bunch of self-righteous, self indulged assholes voices out and claims that they're life is very much endangered and it could instantly cause them death by resuscitation just because some random guy lit his cigarette in a park or whatever.

The truth is the amount of emission caused by the little sticks of death as the public would call it is deemed to be very minimal. Its annoying how they claim that smokers are incredibly selfish and irresponsible of the public health. Based on a recent research, the amount of intake provided if you're living in a small room without ventilation having a person smoke 24 hours only adds up to be roughly two sticks a week.(and that is provided if you never leave the room) Which really leaves me wondering how is it possible to be EXTREMELY hazardous to health as the media would claim it to be. Though, it is true that it is not the best thing for your health but most smokers are considerate enough to smoke in areas that does not affect others so all that's need to be done is to just stay away. Is that too much to ask? How is that selfish instead of asking someone to completely change his lifestyle just because you're not comfortable with it?

Lets look at things this way, if smoking is so irresponsible because it emits hazardous gas into the air. Why not everyone just stops driving, because the rate of pollution caused is marginally and exponentially higher than a mere cigarette. So is it right to deliberately claim on the media that drivers are all irresponsible asshole because they selfishly disregard the public's and the environment's health just for the self convenience?

"Omg you drive! You fucker, you spoil the environment. No suffer my wrath of undying annoyance amplified by the media!"
..and for that we shall organize a world no drivers day!

The fact is, if you're really environment concerned, you'd stop driving a car even if makes life harder than it already is, because that in your own terms, if you don't it is deemed as irresponsible. Also, you should cease shopping in Hypermarkets because of the damage done to nature and public health during the construction of the hypermarket, the manufacturing process of the goods you purchase which emits a far superior amount of hazardous gas, also not forgetting to mention the non-biodegradable plastic bags of which you use to carry your purchased goods which would lead to death of animals, damage to soil and etc. The list could go on infinitely but I choose not to elaborate any further

It is annoying to see this hypocritical bastards claiming that they're concerned about their own health due to selfish people, but being ignorant about how their daily actions will affect the health of others too, they blatantly claim that actions that deteriorates health like smoking should be stopped. But wait a second, being concerned about your own health and stopping the actions of others, while still exercising actions that also leads to deterioration of public health isn't that itself a form of selfishness? Ironic, no?

Besides, the tax charges on cigarettes contributes a large amount to the government funds and with that the funds public amenities and shit like that is provided in a large scale. So with buying cigarettes and smoking the in the process shortening our lives we're actually being very giving creatures that sacrifices the longevity of our life just so that you can have these amenities. Don't you think we're the least selfish creatures in the world? So if would be completey accurate to say we are really, just divine creatures in disguise. Okay, don't take that too seriously it was meant to be a highly unfunny joke but I will still demand you to laugh.

When it comes down to it, unless you're really concerned about the environment and not just concerned towards the extend where its convenient to yourself (which, would mean you would cease all the activities that damages mother nature e.g: driving, owning a house, purchasing food that's not self planted) you should really consider the option of shutting the hell up because you're not of any better. If this whole article makes no sense to you.

then..

...

Fuck you. =D
